COVID Pandemic Responsibility
Pima Meeting is in unity to endorse the Health Citizen Pledge priorities, as part of our civic responsibility to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We will consider with ongoing concern the priorities of:
Prevention, by providing current and useful information to our community, fostering discussion and support of Friends by encouraging good prevention health practices;
Planning, for testing and vaccination by discussions, encouragement, and Friend assistance; and for safe resumption of in-person gatherings;
Policy, to consider and support responsible and appropriate civic response and efforts to manage and end the pandemic.
The pledge encourages each of us to take the time to consider what role we can play in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
We use the term “citizen” as a verb associated with taking responsibility for the common good, and not as a noun conferring a sense of individual entitlement as a birthright. Likewise, we use the term "pledge" as a verb indicating a promise, not an oath or contract.
By signing the pledge we promise to access reputable sources of information about COVID -19, take steps to protect ourselves and our community from the virus, come up with a viable COVID-19 plan should we test positive, and support COVID-19 policies that are evidence based.
